Dark Silence – It was grand

No power,
No radio,
No phone,
No television,
No internet,
No computer,
Candle flickering,
Sitting in the dark.
All is quiet.
It was grand!

“Why are you so wary of thought?” said the philosopher. “Thought is the one tool we have for organizing the world.”
“True. But thought can organize the world so well that you are no longer able to see it.”
To his disciples he later said, “A thought is a screen, not a mirror; that is why you live in a thought envelope, untouched by Reality.” ~~ Anthony de Mello, S.J.
MORSEL: We understand why children are afraid of darkness, but why are men afraid of light? ~~ Plato

  1. Hey Perpetua! 🙂
I so used to hate the silence and the dark. Now I am still afraid of the dark but love the silence! Peace in a Bipolar mind is very rare, so when it happens? I embrace it. That picture was beautiful. Hugs from Oz and goodnight! Paula xxx

      • I love knowing you’re there and even though I don’t pray? I love knowing that you have my back. 🙂 Love to your brother as I know how hard some days must be for him. Peace can be so hard for us to find. Love to you always, Paula xxxxxxx

  2. maybe because we’re scared of the unknown? Even the known becomes unknown in darkness…
Then again, nothing like a flickering candle to bring back memories – glad you enjoyed the outage miss P!!

Please share your reflection. Thank you.
