Saint Francis of Assisi
St. Francis of Assisi, who died this day in 1226, founded the Franciscan order and stressed the need to imitate the life of Jesus, drawing followers with his evangelical zeal, consecration to poverty, charity, and charisma.
Here is a man that consumes me. He is as real as real can be. There are no other in history, as far as I am concerned that teaches what is truly to be human, to be alive.

Yes to live with love and charity for others is the faith, not cathedrals and rules and theology and men in extravagant robes.
No one better to admire Perpetua.
Amen to that. Saint Francis is the perfect example for Dante’s quote in the “Divine Comedy,” “In His will, is my peace.”
