This post is inspired by Filipino songwriter Francis Magalona.

So many faces, so many races
Different voices, different choices
Some are mad, while others laugh
Some live alone with no better half
Others grieve while others curse
And others mourn behind a big black hearse.
![](https://perpetuasiglos.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/image46.jpeg)
Some are pure and some half-bred
Some are sober and some are wasted
Some are rich because of fate and
Some are poor with no food on their plate
Some stand out while others blend
Some are fat and stout while some are thin
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most.

Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin’ round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world.

Some are great and some are few
Others lie while some tell the truth
Some say poems and some do sing
Others sing through their guitar strings
Some know it all while some act dumb.

Let the bassline strum to the bang of the drum
Some can swim while some will sink
And some will find their minds and think
Others walk while others run
You can’t talk peace and have a gun.

Some are hurt and start to cry
Don’t ask me how don’t ask me why
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most.

Beautiful post Perpetua, your images celebrate the song perfectly. The image of the polar bear swim is fabulous as is Somewhere in Spain. But the entire post celebrates humankind of any and all varieties. Kudos on a marvelous entry.
Thank you, Tina. I just realized I’ve taken many faces in the crowd. Just didn’t pay attention until the assignment came up. And that song, what a rap music of different folks.
I loved the energy you put into your kaleidoscope poem. Such profound thoughts and true for most of us. Great photos to reflect your thoughts. Outstanding!!!!
Thank you, Donna. Always good to see your face in my post and encouraging words.
I am glad to be there/ here…
What a wonderful large family you have!
Thank you, Lois.
I like that all the mothers have crowns and that the verses represent everyone.
Mothers are the crowning glory of children. Come join us in Lens-Artists weekly challenge. The topic is Faces in the Crowd.
I will check it out but I don’t know if time will allow. Besides the dailyprompt, I try to contribute to Eugi’s Moonwash Musings, and I’d like to find time to paint some more. Thank you for suggesting it Perpetua.
Oh, you are one busy lady, IV. Painting takes time.
Once I start, it is hard to break away.
Agreed. My brother is the same way.
By the way I’ve started following the Lens-Artist tag. Maybe I’ll post something eventually.
It’s fun just to read and see their photos. I follow a lot of tags but seldom make contributions.
